About

The person
behind the camera

Filmmaker, Yosemite local, Super 8 nerd.

hi, hello, nice to meet you

I'm Azariah. I grew up a short drive from Yosemite's gates, so I know the park's light by heart, which permits you'll need, and the quiet corners most people drive right past.

I make story-driven wedding films for couples who care more about how the day felt than how it looked. Yosemite is home base, but I'll happily follow you to a mountaintop somewhere else for a destination wedding or an elopement.

A little bit about me

At the end of the day, I just want to help people.

I really like coffee. I love street photography. And I love film cameras.

But most of all, I love telling people's stories. I think everybody's story is worth telling, whether that's through photo or video, and I love that I get to share those stories through my work.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Postcards from the road

I love to travel.

When I'm not filming weddings, you'll probably find me somewhere new with a camera, chasing light in a city I've never been to.

  • city lights from above

  • high-rise afternoons

  • snapshots on the go

  • temple skies

Raised on
Sierra light.

I've spent years chasing the way the sun drops behind the granite, when the valley goes gold, and where the wind picks up a veil just right. On your day, that's my job: knowing where to be so you don't have to think about it.

What I believe

  1. i.

    People over poses

The best moments aren't directed. I'll give you a nudge when the light's perfect, then get out of the way and let you be you.

  2. ii.

    Presence over perfection

Messy hair, happy tears, the wind wrecking the veil. That's the good stuff. Your film should feel like the day felt, not like an ad.

  3. iii.

    No templates, ever

Every film is cut from scratch around your voices, your music and your inside jokes. If it's you, it stays in.

How I shoot

Digital, Super 8
& a little film.

Cinema cameras catch every word of your vows. Super 8 catches the feeling, all grain and warm flicker. Add film photos to the mix and you get a day you can rewatch and hold in your hands.
